24 Weeks Old

This week, Garrett's been busy getting ready for school-he's registered and finished his financial aid stuff, and we even bought some school supplies! I've completed two weeks of work and will be showing up for more-the bigger branch can't scare me off! Kami has now moved to fruits-she likes bananas (including the rice cereal with banana in it), pears, and applesauce, but it was a no-go with peaches and I'm not sure I want her trying prunes (if you'd like to change all of her diapers after prunes, you go right ahead-I know what prunes do to adults and I can only imagine what they do to little ones). We went to a park in downtown park this weekend to join the Hufstedlers and their friends for a jazz concert. There were four couples there and four baby girls-5 1/2 months, 7 months, 9 months, and 10 months-and they all seemed to enjoy themselves. Kami is showing interest in crawling, bun she's still not mobile. She's still having a lot of fun with Judah and teething, and all-in-all, the Prices are doing well!

Kami and dad were playing and she thought it was really funny when he put the tag rag on her head.

It's a little hard trying to feed her some applesauce when she's checking out the ceiling fan.

She did seem to like them, but still unimpressed.

This is her "my first time trying this food" face, so we're never sure if she likes what we're feeding her. We figure if she keeps opening her mouth, she likes it, right?

Kami and Judah both ended up with the same outfit, so we decided to take some pictures. They were both very happy about being twinners!

Kami likes to lounge on the couch like Grandpa Dokken. She sure loves her Grandpa!

We're not quite sure how she feels about peaches. We tried two nights in a row, but we might have to wait a bit on those.

Kami did seem to like bananas, even though they smell totally gross! Ugh!

It still seems like she wears more of her food than she gets in her stomach.

We also got Kami a new high chair that we just put on top of one of our dining room chairs. She wasn't as excited as mom was about this.

Two cute girls in their high chairs! They sometimes eat at the same time, which is a little frustrating because they like to distract each other and not eat. At least they have fun with each other!

Kami's getting better at tummy time and playing on the floor on her stomach. She's working on crawling, but can't quite get the coordination and timing down.

She amuses herself quite frequently and squeals and laughs at whatever she thinks is funny, and sometimes, we can't figure out what it is.

Here we are at the park. It was a nice day until the wind decided to throw dirt around. Not so much fun getting dirt everywhere. Kami had some carrots and whenever she has orange stuff (carrots, sweet potatoes, squash) on her face, it makes her blue eyes really stand out. Still blue!

She was really having fun with her dad!

Since she's teething again, she'll chew on anything, and since she's almost always wearing a bib, that's usually what she ends up eating. They must taste delicious!

Sometimes the girls play with each others' toys, and Kami really likes Judah's exersaucer. I'm glad it keeps her entertained so I can read my People magazine and see who's dating who! I like to keep up on my reading...

23 Weeks Old

The Prices made it to Denver in just over 12 hours and we're close to being all moved in. I've still got some boxes and bags of stuff that are shoved in my closet, but I figure I'll get to them sometime. Kami and Judah have been very good at sharing a room and toys, but I think Kami is jealous of Judah since Judah is mobile and Kami's not. Judah will start crawling away and Kami makes a pathetic little whimper because she's left behind. She's pretty close to crawling, though, so hopefully soon, she'll be able to follow Judah around. She's got the arm motions and legs down, but she can't put the two of them together at the same time.

Kami got to try both green beans and carrots for the first time this past week, and she seemed to really like both. She's still pretty messy with her foods, but it's a lot of fun for all of us! While Garrett and I were busy moving our stuff, Kami entertained herself with some toys.

Garrett has gotten to spend a lot of time with Kami as a stay-at-home dad and I'm starting to get acclimated to Denver and my new job, so things all around are going well for us. We'll be here for one week and then traveling to Boise for my brother's wedding, so stay tuned for lots of pictures.

By the way, I can't help but notice that no one is commenting on this blog. We want to hear from everyone-how things are going, how cute you think our daughter is, etc.-so comment all you want!

22 Weeks Old

We're getting ready to leave for Denver this Saturday, and consequently, I've lost my camera so all of my pictures of Kami trying squash for the first time are on my dad's camera in Boise. As soon as I get those pictures e-mailed to me, I'll post them right away.

As far as squash goes, Kami loved it! Mom doesn't like it so much, but that's okay. As my mom would say, she's an "Eat-Well Kid!" It was a thing that my mom preached to us when she was an elementary school teacher that was about kids with good eating habits. While Garrett and I were in Denver moving most of our stuff in to our new place, Kami wore a crocheted dress made from her great-grandma Theta. It was a nice green and black one and everyone at the Boise church loved it, especially Theta. She smiled nice for my dad! She's a pretty cute baby with such a fun personality!

21 Weeks Old

Garrett and I drove to Denver-we took a U-Haul down with all of our stuff while Kami stayed with my parents. Before we left, Kami tried peas for the first time this week, and like her parents, she didn't like them. She made some pretty funny, horrible faces that we got a ton of pictures of. She also rolled over in front of us for the first time, but she rolled over onto her toy mat with a huge plastic part on it, and of course, she landed right on it and got really mad while I ran and grabbed my camera. We also got to spend some time with the Weares before we left the Potato State and everyone enjoyed themselves. We'll be driving on Saturday, so wish us good luck with a five-month old baby and a dog in the car for twelve hours!

There was really nothing going on here, but she just looked so darn cute!

She knows what her bottle is now, so any time it comes close to her mouth, she's got to open it up! She knows what she's got coming to her!

We got her a new bottle with handles on it, and Kami's maneuvering pretty well with it.

20 Weeks Old

Happy Mother's Day to me! My first mother's day was nice-we had lunch at Garrett's family's house (we had celebrated with our mothers earlier in the week) with about 30 relatives, spent some alone time together, and then the Caldwell church had a good-bye celebration/extravaganza for Garrett. It was a really nice event-a lot of nice people said some nice things about Garrett's time at the church as youth minister. We've been there since 2001, so we're definitely going to miss all the people that we have become friends and family with. On a similar note, since we'll be moving in three weeks, I expect to see lots more comments on this blog. These were some of the teens that were at the celebration Sunday night along with Chad (he spent his "bachelor years" helping us with them and has become a really good friend to us).

She was so tired one afternoon, so we put her in her swing to see what would happen, and voila!

This was on Mother's Day with my mom, so it's three generations here!

Kami and I were posing for dad on the top of the stairs. She's starting to recognize things now and a camera is one of them, so she knows what to do when we break it out.

Apparently something was funny to her. She's so cute when she gets excited like this!

It kind of freaks me out how "grown up" Kami looks in this picture. I know she's almost five months old, but she's not supposed to be a big girl yet. I can't help but get get a little emotional when I look at this picture.

19 Weeks Old

Well, it's been a whole week since rice cereal was introduced to our little one and she's adjusting quite well. Kami still gets more on her than in her, but it's still a lot of fun to watch her grow and figure out "solids." She's doing really well with "tummy time" and she's been rolling over in her crib-we put her to sleep on her stomach (don't judge me-you don't know me) and when we go to pick her up in the morning, she's on her back. I guess she doesn't want anyone to know about her "rolling over" talents. I'm sure one of these days, we'll see it. In other news, I got a job down in Littleton, CO, so I'll be starting that June 4th. I'm relieved about that because that means that Garrett and I won't be separated for too long, plus I got a promotion, a raise, and a moving bonus! Also, our dog was supposed to get "groomed" by Garrett's mom's dog groomer, and as you will see below, it ended up being a bit more. If you didn't already know, Shepherd is an Australian Shepherd/Border Collie mix and he had long black and white fur...

Kami obviously has a lot of fun with the rice cereal.

On her little playmat, she likes to eat the rings while I make her have tummy time. It's pretty funny.

I don't know what it is, but when she looks up like this, it almost seems like she's cross-eyed. She's really not, but she's still got blue eyes. A lot of people almost have me convinced that she's going to keep them...I think she might be too long for this playmat.

Kami likes to hang out on our bed in the morning after she wakes up. We have wake-up time together in the Price household.

And the kicker...here's our dog that used to have long hair. Apparently, "groomed" meant shave and a haircut. I'm not sure Shepherd has the right face shape for such a short 'do.

18 Weeks Old

This week, Kami started eating rice cereal. We were all excited about it, but Kami didn't really get it. She got much better at it, though, as the week went on. She even started opening her mouth when she saw the spoon getting closer! She's also getting better at sitting up straight and is laughing a lot more. Her eyes are still blue and her hair is still sticking up. She's so much fun!

She likes to attack things now that come close to her mouth. She's a vicious attack baby!

Her bottom two teeth are so close to breaking through her gums, so everything goes into her mouth and she's constantly drooling!

She's getting much better at tummy time and starting to have more fun...

until she gets mad because she can't get that darn toy!

I keep forgetting about the whole "red eye" thing in pictures because I never get it, but I guess that's something you deal with when you have lighter eyes. I still don't see any brown in them. Her doctor finally told Garrett's mom that she'd probably keep those pretty blue eyes!

She started eating rice cereal this week and did pretty well with it. She kind of gets more cereal on her than in her mouth. It's been fun though.

Kami and dad like to watch beer commercials on the TV together. We're really starting her off right!

One of her new things is to reach out and touch people's faces. It's pretty cute and she's so gentle.

Kami's got a play mat that she hangs out on and she's getting pretty good at turning around on it. She really likes to get her feet stuck on the mirror and make mom untangle her. It's a fun game we've got going on-not so much for me though.

Garrett thought it would be fun to wrap her diaper changing mat around her legs. Yeah...fun...

He also thought it would be fun to give her the "Donald Trump" look. Again with the fun...
