23.5 Months Old

I know, I know...I am SO late on this post. Like many, our December has been busy, so the blog got pushed to the very back burners that aren't ever used and have a stain from who-knows-what. Anyways, Kami has a little bit more interest in "kissmas" and "clause" and likes to take down ornaments from our Christmas tree. She also seems really fascinated with the big rolls of paper and pretty bows and loves to "help" mama wrap dada's presents.

Her daycare seems to be going well for all involved and Kami now waves bye-bye to us when we drop her off instead of clinging to our leg and crying. She makes lots of cute crafts and has been doing some preschool stuff with the older kids. Her best friend there is Dylan, a little boy who is close to Kami's age. They love playing together.

She's talking so much more now and has a little more interest in the toilet (she really likes sitting for 2 seconds, throwing toilet paper in the toilet, and flushing), and definitely has a mind of her own. I can't believe she'll be two at the end of this month! My how time flies when you're having fun!

Little Mischievous getting into the box of ornaments.

I gave Kami a scrap piece of paper, some bows, and a few pieces of tape and she went to town.

Kami got to choose her own ornament this year and between Mickey Mouse and Little Einsteins, Rocket won out. She's already broken the antenna off the top.

She loves playing with mama's music boxes (I used to get one every even-numbered year and Nick, my brother, got odd-numbered years), especially the advent Christmas Tree one.

Kami has really latched on to Shep, finally, and can even say his name and mimics us when we tell Shep commands, like "blanket," "sit," and "go outside."

This girl LOVES Cheetos!

Kami had some really important business to take care of after her bath.

Sleepy Kami and Crazy-Eyed dada. Classy.

She found some old bottles and this is what she did. What a dork.

Kami loves when her dada "beeps" her nose. Hilarious!

How could you tell this face no? It's not easy people!

Kami found a compact mirror in the church's nursery and thought they were bug eyes.

23 Months

The second half of November was an exciting one for our family. We got to celebrate Thanksgiving and all of our blessings. We are so thankful for our friends and family and all of the love we are surrounded by.
We also got to celebrate a friend's birthday by going out for pizza and bowling. Kami had a blast bowling and dancing and mom broke 100! I should go pro...
As far as Kami goes, she's starting to speak in more sentences (mainly "mama, more cocoa pease" and "okay, I wanna go side now") and we are beginning to understand her more easily. I can't believe she's going to be 2 in a month. Crazier things have happened...
Kami wanted to help dad keep score.

Kami and "Aunt" Tara dancing at the bowling alley.

Kami's a bit of an exhibitionist and likes to show her belly.

Hmm...I think the orange one would be good...

For some reason, I can't get this second pair of pants on...

"Ooh! Dah-ee? Gamma granpa" She loved the doggy postcard that Grandma and Grandpa Dokken sent to her from Arizona.

Kami loves my chapstick and mimics everything I do lately.

"Mine?"

We went to check on Kami one night and she had her legs stuck outside the crib.

Kami was making her own egg mcmuffin. Yummy. "Mmm..ehs an cheese an bread?"

Kami was giving dad knuckles.

Looks like Kami's going to take off in flight.

It's kung-fu Kami!

Our first snow!
This is where some of Kami's stickers end up...

and here's where the others land.
Kami can get up in our dining room chairs way too easily. There have been a few times that we've found her standing on the table. Good idea...
Kami's got a thing for car seats and buckles. Weird.

Giggity

Anyone here seen "Family Guy" and familiar with Quagmire? If so, this will be funny. If not, she's still pretty cute!

Kami-ites

On the left-hand side of this blog, I've added a "followers" gadget. It lets me know who's keeping tabs on our girl. It's a fun thing for me, so if you feel like it, add yourself on there!

22.5 Months

Well, I think we have successfully weaned Kami off her "ba-ba." She hasn't asked it since last week and it's been a whole 10 days since we went cold turkey two Saturdays ago. Hooray! She won't be three with a pacifier!
Kami's new favorite words are "no" and "mine." "No" has been a favorite for a while and she answers any question with a "no," but "mine" has just started. I'm thinking she gets it from daycare and defending her and her toys. I'm hoping this phase won't last too long because she's convinced that everything around her is hers. Awesome.
Kami also got to see her cousin Keenan for a while this past week. She always has a ton of fun with him and they love to run around with each other. I didn't have my camera, but they squealed and screamed while running outside and jumping in piles of leaves. It was pretty cute.

Hey look-a picture of Kami and mama!

Isn't she the sweetest thing?

Look mama-a new trick!

Kami was quite pleased with herself.

Kami looks pretty cute with her too-big clothes on! She's right in between sizes right now, so all her pants are too long and the waists are way too big for her tiny, long frame.

Kami thinks she's hilarious! We do too. This was actually the first time she's done this in the bath. Many blackmail photos came from this bath time! We'll keep these in handy.
What a stinker.

Kami's new favorite spot in the house. We haven't used this car seat since she was six months old, but she loves playing with the buckles and pulling the canopy over herself. She was getting frustrated because she couldn't get herself unbuckled.

I'm not sure her swim diaper from this summer is going to fit over her clothes, but she was going to try anyway.

She's been playing on her stomach a lot lately. It makes for some cute shots.

Editor's Note

This past weekend, we bid adieu to Kami's beloved "ba-ba," aka her pacifier. We went cold turkey and she hasn't used her "ba-ba" since dad was a weenie and gave it to her Saturday night for bedtime. She's asked for it during nap times, bed times, and when she's grumpy, but we have survived and even went to the doctor office without using on! True, the doctor visit was for mom, but still, it is an accomplishment. To quote Obama, "Yes we can!"
