27 Weeks Old

Kami had a good week this week with the 4th of July and a doctor's appointment for her 6-month check-up. Officially, she was 17 lbs, 2 oz. which is in the 50.75 percentile, she was 28" long, which is in the 97th percentile and her head was in the 25th percentile (I can't remember the exact measurement). I guess she gets her small head from her Grandma Dokken. She also had three shots and was not happy about it. She was a bit sensitive the day after. The doctor also thought that Kami might be sensitive to lactose and milk, so we've switched her to soy formula in hopes that her little rash would clear up. She's had a little rash that I thought was a heat rash, but apparently it was eczema. It seems to be clearing up so far.

I had Wednesday off for the holiday, so all the Prices hung out together at home after breakfast at Perkins. We heard fireworks all night long, so the dog was inside since he's a little skittish. It was a nice family day for us. We didn't really have anywhere to go, so we went to the mall. Isn't that what people do on holidays? I kind of missed the crazy park party!

Kami also tried prunes for the first time this week. She seemed to really like them, although I didn't like cleaning her up after them, if you know what I mean.

We've now been in Denver for an entire month and things seem to be going well for all of us. Both of our jobs have been good and Kami loves hanging out with Judah! We do miss Idaho though!

Here's her poor leg after some of her shots!

Kami loves the dog! She laughs at him and loves to grab his ears!

Luckily Shep is a good dog and lets her do whatever.

She's pretty proud of herself when she gets to pet her dog.

Kami seemed to really like prunes, even though most of it ended up on her face.

She had a bit of a prune mustache after all was said and done.

I think she likes her mustache!

Kami and Judah took a bath together this week and had fun.

Here's the tops of their heads in the tub.

Judah really liked chewing on the brush and Kami just had a good time all around.

She's still teething, so sometimes, she gets into attack mode. This time, she was attacking my leg.

She's contemplating her next move...

She decided to take a break from attacking things and just chill.

Happy fourth of July! I'm not sure Kami knew what to do with the flag.

Judah only knew that she wanted to take it from her, just like anything else Kami has! Kami doesn't seem to mind yet, but I'm sure she will soon...then watch out!

She was so worn out after all the festivities, she took a little cat nap on the floor.

26 Weeks Old

This week, Kami turned 6 months old and had her first pool party (which I didn't get pictures of-duh mom-always have a camera on you-lesson learned). She had so much fun in the pool. It was a baby pool where the water came up to her waist, but she squealed and splashed and even "swam" a bit when I held her horizontal. She'll have her 6 month visit with a new doctor here in Denver (we still love Dr.Shappard though), so we'll keep everyone updated on her size and development. She's also so close to crawling and getting better and better at using her hands and grabbing hold of what she wants (which is usually something she can't have-mom's hair, television remote, Shepherd's ears). She now gets up around 7, eats a bottle and goes right back to sleep until 10, eats lunch at 11, takes an afternoon nap after another bottle from 2-4, eats dinner at 5, takes an evening nap from 6-7, and eats her dessert (another bottle) and goes to bed a little after 9. She's starting to show more of her personality every day (usually with some squeals and squeaks) and it's so much fun to watch!

Kami also got to type this week and here's what she had to say:

|bn/'//////////mnbni7mu////vgaeac mn

I'm pretty sure she meant to say hi to her friends and family and that she misses and loves them. She might have also been saying some inappropriate things, but she didn't learn those from me! She probably picked them up from her Uncle Nick and his dirty mouth!

Kami's close-up. Everyone else might get tired of an eye color update, but not me, so there! And yes, still blue!

She loves looking at the television, no matter what's showing. I think she really likes watching CNN with her mom. That way, she's well-informed about public events and what-not.

Kami can get up on her hands and pull her knees underneath her. She starts to rock and push off with her legs, but she forgets to move her arms and usually face-plants into the ground. This is also a face she makes with a new sound ("mmmmmmm").

She usually ends up moving backwards when she tries to crawl, which is pretty funny. We used to be able to leave her somewhere and walk away and she'd be in the same spot, but she's getting dangerously close to becoming mobile. She can move around a little, but not too much to where it's a problem.

She's so close, I can feel it! Feel it, feel it! Come on, feel the vibration!

Kami usually wants something that she can't have (see above).

I think she likes the remote because of all the buttons and lights on it. We got her a few toys with buttons and lights that also make noise, but she still wants the remote. I guess you always want what you can't have...

Until she figures out the crawling thing, she moves around the room by rolling. She can roll from front to back no problem, but the back to front still presents a bit of a challenge.

Look how well she sits up now! She's so proud of herself.

This is the face she makes when she makes a new sound that was discovered this past week. She has successfully found her upper register, which comes out in a high-pitched squeal whenever she feels like it, which is usually at an inconvenient time for mom and dad (a crowded restaurant, in the mall, when it's quiet).

Again with the face/noise. Now she's just showing off.

Kami's still teething, so she's still chewing on her fist, or really anything that comes close to her mouth.

25 Weeks Old

This week, we have a wedding to go to, and it's Uncle Nick's wedding! Kami loves her Uncle Nick-he plays with her hair and likes to poke her. Kami and I got to Boise Sunday evening (my dad picked me up at the airport and as soon as we walked through the gates, my dad took off with Kami and I haven't seen her much lately) and Garrett got here Thursday evening after his plane was delayed three hours. I'm glad he was by himself and not with the baby.

Kami and grandma are taking their routine morning garden tours and grandpa likes to carry her around and show Kami Fuzzle's props and grandma's wigs, which she thinks are hilarious! She's also gotten to see her other set of grandparents, some great aunts and uncles, and some of mom's friends. We have a bridesmaid luncheon on Thursday, a rehearsal and dinner on Friday, and the big event Saturday evening! We all go back to Denver on Sunday, so I have a feeling the week will go by too quickly.

We left a travel bed at my parents' house, but in the three weeks that we've been gone, she's outgrown it, so she got to sleep on the floor on a few quilts with some pillows around her so she wouldn't run into the closet, although one morning, she was kicking the closet doors, which was not easy to sleep through.

Kami's starting to have more fun in the bath, and she took hers in the sink at her grandparents' house. She played with a rubber ducky because rubber duckies make bath time lots of fun!

We didn't want her to faceplant it on the sink. That might hurt a bit...

She was lounging in the tub and I wanted to get a picture, so Garrett inserted a rubber ducky censor.

She's got some funky hair after the bath. That's okay, because so does her mom.

Traci Denton hung out with Kami at the rehearsal dinner, and I guess Kami needed some sunglasses to protect her from the sun. Traci was having fun at least.

Kami was in full attack mode because of her teething, so she's attacking cousin Ashton's shirt.

Don't you see the family resemblance?

Here's the proud father of the groom/grandpa with Kami in her wedding garb. She accessorized even-she had her headband on and some sandals with some bling on them.

The Price family photo at the wedding. We tried a few pics, but Kami wouldn't look at the camera. You win some, you lose some.

She finally looked at the camera, so I guess she was finally ready for her close-up. Check out those baby blues.

Here's my dad's car after the wedding. This was also Nick and Patricia's getaway car and somehow, the groomsmen found out which one they were driving, so my dad was in his driveway at midnight hosing the car off.

And now for a funky hair montage. This was when we got back from Denver and after she woke up from a nap that she took on her back.

She kind of looks like a Who down in Who-ville!

24 Weeks Old

This week, Garrett's been busy getting ready for school-he's registered and finished his financial aid stuff, and we even bought some school supplies! I've completed two weeks of work and will be showing up for more-the bigger branch can't scare me off! Kami has now moved to fruits-she likes bananas (including the rice cereal with banana in it), pears, and applesauce, but it was a no-go with peaches and I'm not sure I want her trying prunes (if you'd like to change all of her diapers after prunes, you go right ahead-I know what prunes do to adults and I can only imagine what they do to little ones). We went to a park in downtown park this weekend to join the Hufstedlers and their friends for a jazz concert. There were four couples there and four baby girls-5 1/2 months, 7 months, 9 months, and 10 months-and they all seemed to enjoy themselves. Kami is showing interest in crawling, bun she's still not mobile. She's still having a lot of fun with Judah and teething, and all-in-all, the Prices are doing well!

Kami got a little upset waiting for her food.

She did calm down to try some pears. I think she likes them...

Kami and dad were playing and she thought it was really funny when he put the tag rag on her head.

Yup. Really funny.

It's a little hard trying to feed her some applesauce when she's checking out the ceiling fan.

She did seem to like them, but still unimpressed.

This is her "my first time trying this food" face, so we're never sure if she likes what we're feeding her. We figure if she keeps opening her mouth, she likes it, right?

Kami and Judah both ended up with the same outfit, so we decided to take some pictures. They were both very happy about being twinners!

Cody was entertaining them while I took their pictures. To the left, to the left...

One of the few pictures of both of them looking at me. They're pretty cute, huh?

Kami likes to lounge on the couch like Grandpa Dokken. She sure loves her Grandpa!

We're not quite sure how she feels about peaches. We tried two nights in a row, but we might have to wait a bit on those.

Kami did seem to like bananas, even though they smell totally gross! Ugh!

It still seems like she wears more of her food than she gets in her stomach.

We also got Kami a new high chair that we just put on top of one of our dining room chairs. She wasn't as excited as mom was about this.

Two cute girls in their high chairs! They sometimes eat at the same time, which is a little frustrating because they like to distract each other and not eat. At least they have fun with each other!

Kami's getting better at tummy time and playing on the floor on her stomach. She's working on crawling, but can't quite get the coordination and timing down.

She amuses herself quite frequently and squeals and laughs at whatever she thinks is funny, and sometimes, we can't figure out what it is.

Here we are at the park. It was a nice day until the wind decided to throw dirt around. Not so much fun getting dirt everywhere. Kami had some carrots and whenever she has orange stuff (carrots, sweet potatoes, squash) on her face, it makes her blue eyes really stand out. Still blue!

She was really having fun with her dad!

Since she's teething again, she'll chew on anything, and since she's almost always wearing a bib, that's usually what she ends up eating. They must taste delicious!

Sometimes the girls play with each others' toys, and Kami really likes Judah's exersaucer. I'm glad it keeps her entertained so I can read my People magazine and see who's dating who! I like to keep up on my reading...
