47 Weeks Old

Happy Thanksgiving to all! Turkey Day was held at our house and it went over without a hitch-the turkey came out very pretty and browned and all participants left happy and well-fed. My parents, brother and sister-in-law were there along with Garrett's parents and brother, and my second cousins and a few kids were there too. Later that night, my other second cousin and her hubby came as did Chad and Tara with her parents to play a few games. Thanksgiving isn't really Thanksgiving without Trivial Pursuit. Kami enjoyed getting some Thanksgiving dinner too-a few yams and green beans, some cranberry sauce and fruit salad, and of course, some pie. We also went shopping on "Black Friday" and found Kami some Christmas presents after she had turned around (we didn't want her to see her presents). All in all, Thanksgiving and some time off was fabulous-I wasn't really sure I wanted to go back to work this morning...

Mmm...dad's moccasins are tasty.

She's sort of getting the idea of walking, but I don't think she cares yet.

She's finally got another tooth coming in after all that finger-chewing.

Who could resist a face like that?

Kami likes to chew on anything that's close.

She'll usually give it back to you after she's done with it. What a nice girl.

Here's her Thanksgiving outfit and her panda that she absolutely loves. It's from the Denver Zoo-good memories.

Being tickled is so funny!

Look at the big girl wearing shoes.

Kami likes the rattle we got her on Black Friday.

When she's not chewing on it, she does shake it. Shake it like a Polaroid picture!

Dad likes to have fun with her hair in the bath.

Playing peek-a-boo has become Kami's favorite game. She likes to play in front of the couch.

Listening to a few tunes.

Picking out what to listen to next.

Kami still has to wear her bib everywhere since she's still a drool machine.

Trying to shove her foot and a q-tip in her mouth at the same time. What a multi-tasker.

46 Weeks Old

This next week is Thanksgiving week and I've been thinking of what I should be thankful for. I am thankful for my family. I am thankful for our home. I am thankful that I have a sweet little girl that has a sweet little personality and loves to be a dork! This upcoming Thursday, we'll be having both of our families here and a few friends. It's my first time hosting a holiday, but I do have some experience dealing with turkeys, so I should be okay. Look for some Thanksgiving pics next week!

Kami loves to stretch after a good nap.

She likes to sleep with her panda over her face. Weirdo. But a cute weirdo.

The TV cabinet is becoming her favorite place to hang out on.

Maybe Kami will be a shutterbug like her mom.

She's such a goofy little girl hamming it up for the camera.

We tried to do family pictures again and I had to put this one on just because Kami was so cute in it.

I suppose Kami and I have the same nose, but that's all I'm seeing as far as similarities go.

Kami was enjoying some of my Hi-C from Mickey Ds. Delish.

This is what Kami's hair looks like before her bath...

and during her bath. It's her war paint.

Check out her teeth. I like that her top teeth are really far apart. Hopefully, those will self correct some day...

Kami's favorite seat was in my lap the other day. Do you like her "little bear" outfit? I know it's a boy outfit, but she's our little bear, so it's very appropriate.

Kami needed to catch up on some e-mails and do some online shopping.

45 Weeks Old

This week, I just had to do something with Kami's hair, so we dove in and tried pigtails! They were such a hit, she had them three days in a row. She's starting to be quite the goofy girl at night time. We change her into her pjs and give her a bottle. Some nights, she goes straight to bed, other nights, she gets a second wind after those extra calories and we let her stay up a little later. That's when the funny happens. She loves to play peek-a-boo with us and rolls around on the ground with her stuffed animals. We're getting close to her first Thanksgiving and really looking forward to having it at our house with our families and starting our own traditions.

How cute are they?

We just got Shepherd back from Garrett's parents and Kami was pretty excited about it.

She had to check him out for quite a while.

Peek-a-boo!

Where'd she go?

She's back!

I got the idea for pigtails after her bath one night. How could I not do something with this hair?

She wasn't thrilled when she heard the idea...

but she ended up looking pretty cute with them. A little cockeyed, but it was my first try.

My second try looked better (Kami had to contemplate her thoughts on pigtails-what a deep thinker)...

but my third was my best yet!

44 Weeks Old

Kami's just getting a bigger personality every day! She's been trying new foods and working on some new skills. She's perfected going up the stairs, although descending is a bit difficult (she tried going down one day at Grandma and Grandpa's and came down like a log), and is now working on standing on her own. She's even taken her first step this Monday! She was a bit cranky because she was tired and standing up while dad was trying to changer her into her pjs and took a step towards me! Garrett and I weren't sure if it had really happened, but it did! I'm not ready for her to be walking yet! She's already into too many things! Enjoy the cuteness!

Aww dad...

What a ham!

This is Kami's prize for winning the costume contest last weekend at church.

Maybe if you read it upside down, you'll get a different message.

There must be something good in there.

Kami likes to roll around on the ground. What a weirdo.

Look-it's a flock of pandas!

Dad finally gave in and gave her the black controller.

Her hands got stuck in her pjs and her opposable thumbs became useless.

Man, this girl gets angry!

The Tylenol bottle tastes delicious!

What a silly girl!

Mmm...Cheetos...

and tortilla chips...
